The Puerto Rico Football Club Announce Coaching Staff

Mar 7, 2016

Tom Payne President of the Puerto Rico Football Club announced today that Jack Stefanowski and Marco Velez will join Head Coach Adrian Whitbread’s coaching staff for this upcoming inaugural season.

Jack is a Physical Therapy graduate of New York University, and has a long history with the island of Puerto Rico. He has been an assistant and head coach at three clubs in Puerto Rico while building his coaching resume. He is UEFA certified and highly respected as a Goalkeeping coach as well. In 2013 Jack became the Head Coach of the Nepal National team and enjoyed a successful spell there. Fluent in Spanish, he is a welcome addition to the PRFC Technical team.

Marco is a name synonymous with Puerto Rico soccer, having been the first Puerto Rican to play in Major League Soccer. He was instrumental in the Islanders becoming USF & CFU Champions, while also playing 14 times for the Puerto Rican National Team. Most recently, he has been coaching at Bayamon FC. His vast knowledge of players on the island will be an invaluable asset to the Technical Team in its mission to develop talent here in Puerto Rico.

“We are very happy to add Jack and Marco to our PRFC coaching staff.  Both bring with them vast experience in pro soccer, specifically in Puerto Rico.  We look forward to them each making a significant contribution to our first ever team, as we begin play this summer,” said Puerto Rico Football Club President, Tom Payne.
