Cristiano Dias hopes to win his second NASL title with PRFC
Jun 6, 2016

Cristiano Dias does not sing and does not dance, he just plays football. He’s been playing the beautiful game since he has memory, and for him there was no other option than becoming a professional player.  Becoming a successful player was in his mind the only way to give his family a better life, something his parents had given him through hard work. Now, the former NASL Champion prepares for his tenth season in the league and hopes to add another trophy to his case.

Dias remembers his hometown of Machado every time he drinks a good cup of coffee, since this is one the main products of the region. His parents worked their entire life to give him and his two siblings a better education and food every day. Because of this, Cristiano was able to focus on football. Contrary to his brother and sister, football was his entire life.

Machado is a very small city in the state of Minas Gerias, Brazil.  With only 40,000 inhabitants, it does not have professional football. That is why Cristiano moved to São Paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world, at the age of 16 with the cautious consent of his parents. After this, he moved to the United Sates where he played for Miami FC and Minnesota United FC, team with whom he won the NASL championship.

Cristiano had already visited Puerto Rico in the past, so when the opportunity to play in the Island arose, he jumped at the chance. The center back hopes that his experience and leadership will help the new club reach the title game and give him a new trophy for his case.
