Bayamón, Puerto Rico-  Puerto Rico FC accumulated their first point ever when they tied Indy Eleven in their season opening match in the NASL. The Puerto Rican club kept the spring champion’s score at 0 for 90 minutes in front of 6,500 fans, but Indy found a way to level the match.

“It was a tough match and we didn’t expect any less of Indy. Hankinson’s teams are always difficult to beat. We’re very grateful for all the fans who came to support us. We definitely have a home advantage thanks to them.” Said Coach Adrian Whitbread at the end of the match.

PRFC’s first goal in history was made by local Héctor “Pito” Ramos at the 74th minute after a cross from Kyle Culbertson. The Stadium erupted in euphoria when Pito took control of the ball and sent it to the net.

When the clock hit 90, Indy Eleven was granted a free kick taken by Nemanja Vukovic towards the penalty box, where Souleymane Youla received it and made the goal that tied the game and eliminated any hope that PRFC had of getting their first victory, and elevated Indy Eleven’s streak to 11.

PRFC plays their next match against Jacksonville Armada in Florida, which will be broadcasted locally through WAPA 2.
