PRFC LOOKS TO GET THEIR FIRST THREE ROAD POINTS AGAINST THE COSMOS

Jul 28, 2016

San Juan, Puerto Rico- The moment for celebration is over and now it's time for Puerto Rico FC to focus on getting their second win this Saturday against one of the NASL’s top teams, the New York Cosmos. After getting their first win at home against Rayo OKC, PRFC looks to get it's first three road points that have eluded them in three opportunities.

The New York Cosmos finished in second place of the spring season standings but tied in points with Indy Eleven. This fall they are currently tied for fourth place but only one point behind the leader. After a 3-0 start the Cosmos have only been able to accumulate one point in the following three games, loosing at Rayo OKC, playing to a draw with the Rowdies and loosing last Saturday in Edmonton. The Cosmos are looking to repeat as NASL Champions, so every game counts from here on out if they want to make the playoffs.

Puerto Rico FC is coming out of an exciting and very emotional first win at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium, but as the team’s leading goal scorer Héctor Ramos says: “We must stay focused on our overall goal and not be satisfied with one win. It was great doing it in front of our fans but now we have to stay consistent and take it one game at a time. The coaches will set the strategy and we have to do the work so we can keep getting three points every time we go on the field no matter which field it is”.

The players are very excited to return to New York and expect a lot of support from all the Puerto Ricans that have established themselves in the Big Apple.

“We have been very happy with all the support in Jacksonville, Oklahoma and Tampa Bay, but now it’s New York turn and we expect to see a lot of orange and Puerto Rican flags in the stands cheering for us.” said Staten Island native Sidney Rivera.

Christopher Nurse has been ruled out of the game with a left hamstring injury. Oliver Minatel will also not make the flight with a quad injury that has kept him out since the first game of the season.
